Our mission is to inspire young people to become informed citizens who make service a lifelong commitment.

Choose one of the following prompts for your one to two page essay that you believe will demonstrate your passion for civic responsibility.

  1. Choose one individual that you personally know who embodies service, integrity, or leadership. How have they directly impacted your own beliefs and actions of service to others?
  2. Explain how you are acting as a citizen in your community. What acts of service have you done in the past, and what impact did you observe? Are there any future acts of service that you want to do that you believe will positively impact your community?

We recognize that AI tools (such as ChatGPT) can be helpful for brainstorming or generating ideas. However, your essay must reflect your own original thinking and writing. Please do not use AI or other automated tools to write your essay for you. Essays that are generated or heavily written by AI will not be considered for a scholarship award.
