The Founders Scholarship

Global Doing Good is proud to support students across the U.S. in their education and travel endeavors. Through scholarship awards in varying amounts, middle school students participate in life-changing travel to Washington, D.C., and the historic East Coast.

How It Works

Tell us about someone who inspires you

To be considered for a scholarship, students write an essay about a person who exemplifies one of these qualities — drawn from their own experiences and observations.

Service

Someone who gives their time and energy to help others and strengthen their community.

Integrity

Someone who does the right thing — even when it’s hard, and even when no one is watching.

Leadership

Someone who guides and inspires others toward a shared goal with courage and care.

Post-trip reflections

As a stipulation for receiving the scholarship, awardees submit post-trip reflections — for example, a short video or a letter of gratitude detailing the trip experience, what the student learned, and how it will change their life. Photos welcome!

A note on AI

AI tools (such as ChatGPT) can help you brainstorm or generate ideas, but your essay must reflect your own original thinking and writing. Please don’t use AI to write your essay for you — essays generated or heavily written by AI will not be considered for an award.
