Weekly Roundup: October 22, 2026

October 22, 2026

Our Benjamin Project students are bringing creative cheer to hospital playrooms and revitalizing local churches—see their inspiring impact in action! This week, we're spotlighting a Minnesota student supplying young hospital patients with craft kits, a Colorado student equipping his school with new recess sports gear, and a Nevada student helping renovate his local church. Plus, a New York student expresses gratitude for "one of the best trips she has ever been on" after exploring historic landmarks and seeing snow for the first time in Washington, D.C.

Norah, Abby, and I had lots of fun picking out crafts for the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis! With our $100 we went to Hobby Lobby and bought tons of crafts for all ages. Some were harder detailed paintings and others were sticker activities! We hope this brings joy to their tough stay!

The Benjamin Project

Ellis - Colorado

With my $100 I bought sports equipment for my grade. I got soccer balls, footballs, tennis balls, kickballs, and basketballs. These are for our recess since my grade lost most of them last year. During The Benjamin Project, I learned really how much teachers and administration spend so they can give us the best possible school experience. This allows me to be more aware and kinder to the people who really care about me and my school.

The Benjamin Project

Rod - Nevada

My experience throughout the Benjamin Project was a great experience. The reason why is because I was able to get great amazing cleaning supplies like bleach window cleaner and also tiny mats for my church that was going through renovation. It was a fun and awesome experience to work with the Benjamin Project to help out to fix and clean my church.

Founders Scholarship

Emily - New York

Thank you so much for this scholarship—I enjoyed the trip a lot!

Probably my favorite and most memorable part of the trip was Ford’s Theatre and the Petersen House. The history involved was fascinating, and I deeply enjoyed learning about Abraham Lincoln. In addition to that, we visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which was quite interesting—I definitely learned a lot of new things!

We visited George Washington’s Home, which was beautiful (partly because of the snow). It was my first time seeing snow, which made this trip all the more memorable! The last part of the trip was the Spy Museum, which was a great note to end off on. I loved learning about the secretive ways people got their information!

Overall, this was one of the best trips I have ever been on, from the museums to the memorials. I am very glad and grateful to have gone!
