Terms of Service

Effective date: August 25, 2026 · Applies to globaldoinggood.org and all Global Doing Good programs

1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Global Doing Good. By using globaldoinggood.org, registering for a program, or submitting one of our forms, you agree to them. If you are a parent or guardian giving consent for a student under 18, you agree to these terms on their behalf, and you're responsible for their participation. If you don't agree with the terms, please don't use the site or register.

2. Who we are and what we run

Global Doing Good is an independent, registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Bozeman, Montana. Our programs include The Benjamin Project (student-led community service funded by prepaid project cards), travel scholarships for middle-school students, and service-learning trips. Each program has its own registration or application process, and joining a program may involve additional steps — like the parental-consent process described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Student accounts

  • Accounts are created through program registration. A student under 18 can only register after a parent or guardian completes our consent process.

  • Give us accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date.

  • Your username and password are yours alone — don't share them, and let us know right away if you think someone else has used your account.

  • Parents and guardians of students under 18 are responsible for supervising their student's use of the account.

4. Project cards

  • The Benjamin Project entrusts each participating student with a prepaid project card to fund a community-service project of their own design. The funds on the card are program funds, provided for that purpose.

  • Card activations are processed during our business hours, Monday through Friday. Our team reviews each registration and confirms activation within the next business day.

  • Use the card for your project, and tell us about your experience when you're done — that report is the heart of the program.

  • The cards themselves are issued by our prepaid-card partner and carry that partner's own cardholder terms.

  • If a card is lost, stolen, or doesn't work, contact us and we'll help sort it out.

5. What you share with us

  • What you submit — reflections, photos, videos, essays, applications — stays yours.

  • Only submit things you actually made or have the right to share, and make sure anyone who appears in a photo or video is okay being in it.

  • When you (or your parent or guardian) check the consent box during registration, you agree that written responses, photos, and videos submitted following participation in The Benjamin Project may be used in future Global Doing Good publications, without compensation being owed.

  • Sharing a student's story publicly is always a separate, optional choice — and even then, only a first name and city are ever shown. Consent to share can be withdrawn at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.

  • Please keep submissions appropriate for a program built around students — nothing hateful, violent, or misleading.

6. Using the site responsibly

Don't misuse the site. That means, among other things:

  • Don't pretend to be someone else or register with information that isn't yours.

  • Don't try to get around the parental-consent process or access someone else's account or information.

  • Don't probe, disrupt, or interfere with the site's security or operation.

  • Don't use the site to send spam or collect information about other people.

7. Our content

The content we create for the site — text, graphics, logos, and photos — belongs to Global Doing Good or the people who let us use it. You're welcome to view and share it for personal, non-commercial purposes; please ask us before using it any other way.

8. Donations

Donations are handled by a dedicated donation processor, and your payment goes directly to them under their own terms. Donations are generally non-refundable, but if you believe a donation was made in error, contact us and we'll work with you.

9. Privacy

How we collect, use, and protect personal information — including children's information and parental consent — is covered in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

10. Disclaimers and limits on liability

  • We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it as-is and can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

  • To the fullest extent the law allows, Global Doing Good isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or participation in a program.

  • Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

11. Changes, suspension, and ending participation

  • Programs have limited capacity and run on program dates, so we may need to decline or limit registrations.

  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. For a student under 18, we'll tell their parent or guardian.

  • You can stop using the site, or ask us to close an account, at any time.

  • If we change these terms, we'll post the new version here with an updated effective date. For material changes, we'll notify the families and educators we have on record before the change takes effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
